All requests directed to Arte Público Press must be made in writing, by mail or by fax.
It is not our policy to grant permissions verbally, and no requests are handled
on a rush basis.

Requesting permission to use material protected by

- Please take the time to examine the book, including the copyright and acknowledgement
page(s).
- If the book is an Arte Público Press book and we have not obtained permission from a third party, refer to the following information to submit your request to our offices.
- If the material you are seeking permission to reprint appears in an Arte Público anthology or a collection of the works of multiple authors, you must review the copyright and acknowledgement page(s) to locate the information pertaining to the original source granting permission for the use of material you wish to copy. Your request should be directed to that party.
- Please provide Arte Público Press the following information:
- Title and author of the book from which you wish to reprint
- Copies of the piece that you would like to reproduce and the page numbers on which this material appears in the book
- Title and publisher of your upcoming publication, publication date, retail price and print run, format (Clothbound, Trade Paperback, etc.)
- Territories and languages of distribution and length of license for which you require permission (US, US and Canada, world, etc.)
- Your proposed fee for requested license
- Since many requests require research, please submit your request as early as possible. It may take up to 3-5 weeks to receive a written response to your request.
If you wish to photocopy material for academic or non-academic use, please indicate the book title, page numbers, and how many copies you would like to make.
If you wish electronic rights, please provide all relevant information as to medium, size of audience, proposed licensing fee, etc.
